The Alberta School Employee Benefit Plan (ASEBP) is aware that teachers will vote in early May on a recommended settlement between the Teachers’ Employer Bargaining Association (TEBA) and the Alberta Teachers’ Association following mediation. ASEBP understands part of the recommendations include ASEBP benefit coverage as well as the Sick Leave Support Program.  

Please know ASEBP is poised to support teachers across Alberta should they choose to endorse the proposed settlement.

If You Go Off Work for Health Reasons

If you have ever had to go on sick leave due to illness or injury, you know this experience can be overwhelming and happen when you least expect it. 

Therefore, starting January 1, 2025, ASEBP will offer to connect you with medical specialists, therapeutic practitioners, and other community support services during your sick leave, to support your recovery and return to work. As part of this new offering, ASEBP will also work with your employer and health care providers to help you ease back into a work routine based on medical accommodations.

Education Worker Recognition Week 2024

Please contact your employer if your mailing address is incorrect in My ASEBP and you want to request a printed T4A for 2024. If you receive taxable Extended Disability Benefits (Plan D), you can also get in touch with your ASEBP case manager to update your mailing address. 

REMINDER: request a paper copy of your T4A tax notice by February 9, 2025.
