Trigger Warning: Residential Schools/Child Death

The remains of 215 children were recently discovered at a former residential school in Kamloops, British Columbia. This news is a devastating reminder that the trauma inflicted by residential schools is still experienced by survivors, descendants of survivors, and the families of those who never came home.

Today, we remember and honour the lives lost, and mourn alongside the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation as well as all Canadians. We remain unwavering in our commitment to truth and reconciliation, efforts to address racism, and solidarity with the Indigenous community.

If you’ve been impacted by this news, these recovery and coping strategies, available in English and in French, from Homewood Health, your Employee & Family Assistance Program (EFAP) provider, may be of assistance. You may also reach out to your EFAP at any time for free, confidential support at 1-800-663-1142 (en français: 1-866-398-9505).

Sincerely,

Kelli Littlechilds
Chief Executive Officer
