About Alberta’s Top Employers
Alberta’s Top Employers is an editorial competition that recognizes organizations that lead in their industries in offering progressive Human Resources programs and policies. Established in 1999, the competition is held annually and is open to any employer with its head office or principal place of business in Alberta.
Organizations are evaluated on business practices in eight different criteria areas: (1) Physical Workplace; (2) Work Atmosphere & Social; (3) Health, Financial & Family Benefits; (4) Vacation & Time Off; (5) Employee Communications; (6) Performance Management; (7) Training & Skills Development; and (8) Community Involvement. Competing organizations are then compared to other organizations in the same industry to determine which offer the most progressive and forward-thinking programs.
